Review: nRelate

I was recently invited to check out nRelate, a link plugin available for WordPress, Blogger and Tumblr. What does that mean? Have you ever noticed those little thumbnail pictures that appear below a blog post with the words "If You Liked This, You Might Like..." or something similar to that below it? Well, those little links are the product of plugins like nRelate.

Honestly, I hadn't given much thought to the fact that there might be differences in the plugins from which my links were generated. I wrongly assumed that they were all the same, and since I had selected my previous plugin from a random Google search, I was eager to see what kind of different options nRelate would have to offer.

nRelate allows you to choose the style of your thumbnail links including many customization choices for size, number of thumbnails, default photos and more. I went with the Poloroid style because it's fun, different and kind of spunky! I'm loving the way it looks, and the links that nRelate is posting as "related posts" are much better and more closely associated than my previous plugin - yay!

One of the neatest options that nRelate offers is the ability to link to multiple websites. If you have two or more blogs, you can pull your related thumbnail links from all of your sites to drive traffic to each and every one. They also offer the option of adding an advertisement as one of your thumbnails, which could prove to be a great way to monetize your site.

The simple installation process only took a few minutes, though it did take almost two hours for the plugin to initally appear on my blog. Once the plugin was installed and active, however, changes to style and appearance were applied instantly. The nRelate website claims that their plugin increases pageviews by 5-12%, so I'm anxious to see if that will prove true here at Mom's Crafty Space. I've only had the plugin installed for a short time, but I already really love it!

I'm pretty sure you're going to love it too!

That is cute! I'll go check them out now!

What timing! I was just wondering how to add that feature to my blog. Set it up last night and it worked like a charm! THANK YOU for posting and pinning! Re-pinned. http://littlestarslearning.blogspot.com http://pinterest.com/littlestarlearn/

I did just change it, and it does take a while to add on or come back after changes. FYI to others.

I just did a search about finding the right related posts plugin for my blog and this post came up - it was super helpful and I just wanted to say thanks for writing it! I'm still waiting for the plugin to appear on my pages - just like you said - but I can't wait to see how it looks!
